The Garni Temple stands proudly as the only surviving building in Armenia with an Armenian-Greco-Roman colonnade and continues to be shrouded in historical mystery.
Most likely, the temple was built in 77 AD, during the reign of the Armenian king Tiridates I, who was crowned eleven years earlier by the Roman emperor Nero. This temple was dedicated to the ancient Armenian sun god Mihr.
