High in Pakistan's Indus Valley are some of the most complex and varied petroglyphs on earth. These are ancient shatial hieroglyphs on the Karakoram Highway in the Gilgit-Baltistan region. Dating from the Stone Age to the rise of Islam, the hieroglyphs cover the boulders over 100 kilometers in length. The inscriptions and designs cover various languages, religions and symbolism.
