In 1919, young Alfred Hubbard created a mechanism that newspapermen dubbed it a “perpetual motion machine”, and Hubbard himself called it a generator of atmospheric energy.
To attract investors, Alfred held demonstration motorboat rides. Hubbard admitted to greed, was afraid of selling it cheap or losing the rights to his miraculous invention, and was actively looking for a way to sell it at a higher price.
In 1920, newspapermen somehow very quickly lost interest in the invention and the inventor. In 1929, having patented a “radioactive internal combustion device for an internal combustion engine,” the young genius suddenly quit inventing, went to prison, and former investors suddenly lost interest in his patented generators.
For some reason, as soon as the conversation turns to atmospheric electricity or alternative energy sources, inventors die, go to prison or give up their life’s work.
