The Chinese, on whose lands archaeologists have excavated the skeletons of huge human remains, claim that there was once a village of giants more than 4 meters high!!

One might consider this a fiction if not for the preserved letters of the 16th-century Jesuit priest Melchior Nunez Barreto. He claimed to confirm the presence of a group of giant soldiers in China. In a letter of 1555, Melchior certified that he had personally seen the giant soldiers guarding the gates of Beijing, and that the emperor of that country had hired 500 of these giants.

Seventy years later, the English clergyman and writer George Hackwill wrote a similar account in his Apology of 1627: the emperor hired 500 strapping men to form a corps of archers for his guard. Historical chronicles also indicate the height of these giants: 15 feet or 4.57 m, which coincides with the statements of the Chinese.
